Keep Romance Alive in a Marriage

By: Frank Hagan

Ladies, if you feel like your marriage has hit a rocky point, I want to help you rekindle the passion, love, and romance that you once felt. Being married isn't easy, but when you first got married, it seemed like things were so much more passionate. It takes some work, but you can get back to this wonderful place you in your husband shared. I'm here to tell you that it is completely worth the effort.

The first thing that I want you to do is to take a good long look at yourself. Passion is a two way street. As you start to feel that your husband doesn't care about you as much, you may react in subtle ways that sends a signal to him that isn't positive. Reinventing yourself and finding that woman that you once were will go a long way towards the healing process.

The next thing you need to do is communicate with your husband about exactly how you're feeling. Guys can be very oblivious. Even if you think you're sending signals that you want more romance, he may not be picking them up. I have counseled numerous couples that were able to fix their passion for each other by simply talking about it. And I have to admit I was amazed at how many times the man thought nothing was wrong with the relationship. Usually once he discovered this, he was quite happy to start making the gestures that were needed to add back the romance.

The other thing I noticed in counseling these couples, is that as the woman got more upset about the situation, the more she withheld sex from her husband. Sex is a woman's tool to reward a man for good behavior, so if your husband begins trying to add some much needed romance back into your relationship, make sure you will reward him with passionate sex.
