While you search the internet for that special lady... the girl of your fantasies... your soul-mate... your better half, you can do a lot of things right. Sadly, you can, also, do a lot of things wrong... major mistakes that can destroy your success and crush your dreams.
1. Be masculine without being too aggressive.
In your working life, pushing hard, expecting the highest level from yourself and others and looking for opportunities to get ahead will serve you well. But those strategies are likely to backfire on you in the world of dating, on the web or off. Women distinguish between men who are attractively masculine - confident, assertive and comfortable with themselves - and men who are macho - aggressive, cocky and just trying too hard. Moving forward too fast can make a woman feel pressured and is likely to push her away. Don't forget you're not in a competition when you're dating. Keep the relationship progressing at a slow but steady pace. Slow but steady wins the race.
2. Don't expect perfection.
No one is without their eccentricities. Each and everyone one of us is flawed in some way... and that includes you, as well. Believe it or not, this is true of every girl out there. No woman is going to be perfect. Being a perfectionist at your job is one thing. Demanding perfectionism from a friend, co-worker or a lady you are interested in is not just fine. It's just not going to happen and other will resent it. Understand that everyone has flaws and find ways to handle that reality. Figure out what you can tolerate and what you can't.
3. You must be honest.
Being deceptive in your profile or emails, even in small ways, won't cut it when you're doing Internet dating. Be real from the beginning and you'll be on the right track. Compose your profile. Make it compelling while sticking with the truth. Your honesty in this process will serve you well when you meet her for the first time. If you say you are a lawyer who makes a million bucks a year and you are really an electrician that makes $40,000, you have set yourself up for failure.
So there you go. Don't be overly aggressive or pushy. Don't expect to find a perfect woman but know what you won't accept. And be honest from the beginning. If you follow this tips, you are sure to find the love you seek on the Internet.
